If you have a remote job, you are free to work from anywhere you want. However, it’s all too easy to get stuck in a rut and only ever work from the same place in the same way. Here are some ideas to mix it up a bit.
Move Location
Why always be in the same place if all you need is an internet connection? Head out to some different places such as a library or coffee shop to give yourself a working break. The change of scenery will boost your productivity as your brain processes everything.
Go Outside
Being in the fresh air is great for both your health and your work, helping you to be more creative. If you have a yard or garden, you could use this, but if not, grab a bench at a public park. You will also feel a lot happier, which will be reflected in your work.
Join Other Remote Workers
If you like working from home, but miss the hustle and bustle of an office, a co-working space might be the answer for you. You can rent a desk in the room, then bring in all the equipment you need to work. Surrounded by people in similar situations, you should get a productivity boost out of being in a group again.
Redecorate
If none of these options work for you, you can carry on working from your own home, but still make it different. Give yourself a break from seeing the same things day in, day out by doing some simple redecorating. New wall art, a different rug, change of notebook – all of these will help your workspace seem fresh and new, giving you more energy to work.
